Another soul granted wings

By the rising of the sun

Taken by the angels

Given to the light of Grace

And protected by the will of god

Away from pain

Blessed in the after life

 

We may be filled with sadness

For a time

But our blessing was you

We are the legacy of you

And the part that shines upon us

You filled our days with wisdom

And guided our childhoods

 

Your quiet determined nature

Is a demonstration

Of how much you achieved

While on earth

And the love you had

Is evident in the years you were here

 

Now you begin another journey

With former friends

And people who long ago earned their wings

I pray there are moments you can look upon

That bring you peace

While you gain your wings

And watch over us.
